Control arms connect the wheel carrier to the body and set how the wheel moves as the suspension works. Replacing a worn or bent arm brings back the geometry the car was designed around. A set that arrives with its bushings fitted saves pressing new ones into old arms. Polyurethane resists deflection far better than the soft rubber it replaces.
