This Whiteline Front Control Arm Lower Inner Rear Bushing fits the 2004-2012 Volvo S40. The part number is W53528. In the box: 2 housings and 4 bolts. Whiteline's note for this fit: Standard Replacement: includes new housing. It goes on the front of the vehicle. Chassis code: P1.

Bushings work out of sight, but they decide how well a suspension holds its geometry. A soft or tired control arm bushing allows play that shows up as vague steering, a wandering feel under braking, or a clunk over bumps. Fitting a firmer one takes that slack out. Polyurethane resists deflection far better than the soft rubber it replaces.
