The rear sway bar can only do its job if its ends are tied firmly to the wheels, and the links make that connection. A loose or flexible link lets the body lean before the bar starts to push back, which is why worn links show up as a knock over bumps or a delayed feel at turn-in. This one is a fixed-length design sized for this application, a straight replacement for the factory part.
