A sway bar link is the short rod that ties each end of the rear sway bar to the suspension. Whenever the body leans, the link carries that motion into the bar, so any slop, flex, or wear in it is slop in the whole roll-control system. It keeps a set length matched to the application, so there is nothing to measure or set during the install.
