Whiteline 20mm Rear Sway Bar Bushing Kit is made for the 2001 Subaru Impreza WRX L, Outback, RS (GD/GG). It goes on the rear of the vehicle. Part number W0404-20. Included: 2 bushings.
The sway bar sits in rubber bushings that let it rotate as it twists. When those bushings wear or compress, the bar slides and shifts in its mounts, which causes clunking and a slight delay before it begins to resist roll. Replacement bushings hold the bar in its proper place while still letting it turn.
Installation is rated easy, with about 1 hour of work listed. It does not require a wheel alignment.
