Control arm bushings wear out quietly. Over time the rubber hardens, cracks, or tears, and the arm starts to move in ways its designers did not intend, which shows up as clunks, vague steering, or uneven tire wear. A standard replacement bushing puts the pivot back to the way the car was built.
