Product Details
This Whiteline Front Lower Inner Rearward Control Arm Bushing Kit fits the 1958-1964 Chevrolet Impala. The part number is W56428. Included: 8 shell bushings, 8 tubes, and grease. Placement: front.
A control arm bushing is the pivot where the arm joins the chassis or the wheel carrier. Factory rubber is chosen for quiet and comfort, so it squashes under braking, acceleration, and cornering and lets the arm move more than it should. A firmer replacement keeps the arm where it belongs, which steadies the alignment and gives the car a more consistent feel. The polyurethane used here deflects much less than the original rubber under the same load.
Whiteline rates the install as difficult and lists about 2 hours. Get the car aligned once it is back on the ground. To go with it on the Impala, see Front Sway Bar Washer Kit, Front Sway Bar Link Bushing (28.5mm OD), and Rear Sway Bar Link Bushing (28.5mm OD).
