Product Details
Fitted to the 1980-1983 Lincoln Mark VI Base (Panther): the Whiteline Front Lower Ball Joint. Whiteline's note for this fit: Standard Replacement. Trim named on the listing: Base. Whiteline part number: W53557. In the box: 1 ball joint. Position: front.
The lower ball joint is the pivot between the control arm and the steering knuckle, and the wheel turns and moves up and down on it. When it wears, it develops play that shows up as clunks, wandering steering, and uneven tire wear. A new joint takes up that slack.
Whiteline rates the install as difficult and lists about 1 hour. Get the car aligned once it is back on the ground.
