Product Details

BC Racing DS Series Coilovers for the 2000-2005 Toyota MR2 Spyder (ZZW30) blend street-tuned ride quality with track-ready adjustability, giving you more body control than any OEM damper without the harshness of a pure race kit. Every kit is extensively tested on the ZZW30 chassis and refined until it balances ride quality with performance — the reason MR2 Spyder coilovers from BC Racing are the best-selling adjustable kits in their segment worldwide.

DS Series kits pair a mono-tube damper with BC's proprietary digressive piston design — increased low-speed damping for flat corner entry, compliant high-speed response over expansion joints and potholes. The finished shock body is silver, visually distinct from the BR Series, and ride height is adjustable independent of spring preload. The off-the-shelf setup from BC Racing is deliberately balanced — spring rates and valving chosen so the kit feels comfortable day-to-day without giving up performance when you push it. Drivers who want a different recipe can spec Swift Springs, custom spring rates, or fully custom valving at checkout; BC will tune the dampers to match, which is a depth of customization most brands only offer on their top-tier kits.

BC Racing has been manufacturing adjustable coilovers since 2004 and is one of the most popular coilover brands in the automotive tuning industry for a reason: competitive pricing, deep customization, proven reliability, and a fully rebuildable damper design that lasts years instead of seasons. These MR2 Spyder coilovers arrive tuned for the ZZW30 chassis and ready to bolt in — no break-in period, no guessing at setup. Every kit ships with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, lifetime access to BC service parts (pistons, seals, shafts — no unit replacement required when it's time for a rebuild), and in-house tech support from both BC Racing and the Springrates team.

Super quick shipping, great communication, and great product.

Springrates was SUPER quick getting these out. Thank you! These coilovers fit the MR2 absolutely perfectly. They also came in well adjusted to install and go as a baseline. The spring height and preload were good, setting the car up with a near perfect stance for handling out of the box (in terms of resting suspension geometry - the ball joints were just below horizontal with the lca inner pivot points). We will check corner balance after the alignment is complete. The ride is definitely considerably stiffer than stock, but with damping dialed in, the handling has been transformed and the car is still quite comfortable. Get that wrong though and you either get big spring bounce or rock hard compression damping - but that's expected!
