The Bilstein B8 shocks are built for a 1996-2004 Toyota Tacoma (N140/N150/N160) that has been lifted or leveled, valved for the taller ride height rather than fighting it.
Inside is Bilstein's monotube design, with the gas and oil separated by a floating piston. That keeps damping consistent when the road turns rough and the unit gets hot, where a lesser damper would go soft.
