This Whiteline Rear Gearbox Selector Mounting Seat Bushing Kit fits the 1982-1992 Pontiac Firebird. Order it as part number W93469. Whiteline's note for this fit: Fits Models with Lips Facing Towards from Driveshaft. Placement: rear. You receive 2 bushings.
Between the shifter and the gearbox sits a chain of linkage bushings. When they are soft or worn, the shifter feels vague and the throw feels long. Firmer selector bushings take out that slop, so each shift is crisper and more positive. The polyurethane used here deflects much less than the original rubber under the same load.
