HKS Carbon Brace for the 2022+ Honda Civic Type R (FL5) is a Japanese-made carbon fiber strut tower brace co-developed with Graphite Design — the same carbon-shaft engineering firm behind premium golf shafts. The Carbon Brace replaces the factory strut tower bar on the Honda Civic Type R (front in the engine bay, rear in the cabin/trunk area) to increase torsional rigidity, sharpen steering response, and deliver a more planted feel on turn-in and at corner exit — without the brittle, over-stiff ride that aluminum or steel braces can produce.
The trick is Graphite Design's "Flex" carbon layup — it adds measurable stiffness to the chassis where it matters (lateral twist) while retaining enough controlled give to preserve OEM ride quality. Aluminum end brackets are CNC-machined and clear-anodized, and every piece is laser-engraved with HKS branding. Made in Japan.
