The Bilstein B8 shocks are built for a 1968-1979 Volkswagen Beetle that is already lowered. Shorter bodies and firmer valving matched to aftermarket springs, so a dropped car rides properly instead of crashing.
The monotube design is what sets Bilstein apart. A single high-pressure gas chamber keeps the oil from aerating, so the damping stays consistent on a rough road instead of fading as the unit heats up.
