Lifting or leveling a 2007-2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser changes what the dampers have to do. The Bilstein B8 shock and spring assemblies are built for that taller stance and stay composed on rough ground.
The monotube design is what sets Bilstein apart. A single high-pressure gas chamber keeps the oil from aerating, so the damping stays consistent on a rough road instead of fading as the unit heats up.
