A worn steering damper lets the 2004-2007 Dodge Ram 2500 dart and kick through the wheel. The Bilstein unit restores calm, straight-ahead steering.
Inside is Bilstein's monotube design, with the gas and oil separated by a floating piston. That keeps damping consistent when the road turns rough and the unit gets hot, where a lesser damper would go soft.
