The Bilstein B6 shocks give the 1987 GMC V1500 the body control the factory dampers never had, at stock ride height. Less nose dive under brakes, less sway when loaded, less float on a long highway pull.
Inside is Bilstein's monotube design, with the gas and oil separated by a floating piston. That keeps damping consistent when the road turns rough and the unit gets hot, where a lesser damper would go soft.
