With the Bilstein B14 coilover kit the 1997-2003 BMW 540i sits exactly where you decide. Height is adjustable across a usable range, and the damping is tuned to stay comfortable on real roads.
The monotube design is what sets Bilstein apart. A single high-pressure gas chamber keeps the oil from aerating, so the damping stays consistent on a rough road instead of fading as the unit heats up.
