Bilstein Shocks & Suspension

Driving dynamics is Bilstein's passion: Realizing the perfect driving behavior, building the perfect shock absorber – that is the motivation that drives this brand. Every day. And Bilstein has been doing so for around 70 years.

Even then, they knew that tomorrow’s driving experience counts more than yesterday’s performance. And that the next innovation is always more important than the last. That’s why they know only one claim: Bilstein shapes the present and future of chassis engineering. Today, with more than 4,000 employees at six locations worldwide, they produce around 13 million shock absorbers every year.

At Springrates, we’re proud to stock Bilstein coilovers, shock absorbers, Bilstein adjustable shocks, lowering springs, and suspension kits. Browse our range today.

Unleash Your Vehicle's Potential with Bilstein Suspension Kits

A suspension kit is your all-in-one solution for a comprehensive performance upgrade. Each kit is meticulously designed to enhance every aspect of your vehicle's suspension, from improved handling and stability to reduced body roll and increased comfort. With these suspension kits, you're not just upgrading your vehicle; you're transforming it.

Designed to deliver the perfect shock absorption, coilovers offer an unparalleled blend of performance, durability, and adjustability. Whether you're carving corners on the track or navigating city streets, Bilstein coils provide the control and confidence you need to push your vehicle to its limits.

Bilstein Lowering Springs

Achieve the sleek, aggressive stance you desire without sacrificing ride quality with lowering springs. Lowering springs are the ideal choice for enthusiasts looking to combine style with substance. Engineered for optimal performance and aesthetics, these springs lower your vehicle's center of gravity, reducing body roll and improving handling.

For those seeking the ultimate in performance and aesthetics, Bilstein lowering kits offer the perfect combination. They include everything you need to achieve a lower stance while enhancing your vehicle's handling and responsiveness. These lowering kits are the go-to choice for drivers who demand the best of both worlds.

FAQs

What is the difference between Bilstein B4, B6, and B8 shocks?

The B4 is an OEM replacement that restores original ride quality and handling using the same factory specification. The B6 is tuned beyond OEM spec for improved handling on standard-height vehicles, using a monotube gas pressure design. The B8 is built specifically for lowered vehicles, with firmer damping to suit reduced suspension travel. Choosing between them depends on whether your car is standard, modified, or lowered.

Are Bilstein shocks worth the price over standard replacements?

Bilstein supplies original equipment to manufacturers including Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and BMW. The aftermarket range is built to the same production standard. The combination of gas pressure technology, monotube construction, and a lifetime warranty means they outlast cheaper alternatives by a significant margin.

What is the Bilstein B12 suspension kit and what does it include?

The B12 is a complete bolt-on suspension kit that combines monotube Bilstein shocks with Eibach lowering springs. It lowers the vehicle's centre of gravity, improves cornering, and gives a sportier stance. Because the shocks and springs are matched to work together, it avoids the compatibility issues that can arise from pairing components separately.

Can I run Bilstein B8 shocks with my existing lowering springs?

In most cases, yes. The B8 is designed specifically for lowered applications and is a common pairing with aftermarket lowering springs. The firmer damping compensates for the reduced suspension travel that comes with a lower ride height. Check fitment specifications for your vehicle before purchasing. If you're unsure, reach out and we'll confirm compatibility.

What Bilstein shocks are best for lifted trucks and off-road use?

The 5100 series is designed for trucks that have been levelled or lifted, with ride height adjustment built in. The 5165 and 7100 series step up to remote reservoir damping for more demanding off-road use, where sustained performance over rough terrain matters more than on-road comfort.

Do Bilstein coilovers allow ride height adjustment?

Yes. The B16 PSS9 and PSS10 coilover systems offer both ride height adjustment and rebound damping adjustment. This makes them the appropriate choice for drivers who want to tune their setup over time rather than fix it at installation. The B16 is also the most track-capable product in the range.

What warranty do Bilstein shock absorbers come with?

Bilstein backs its gas pressure shock absorbers with a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser, covering defects in workmanship and materials. If a shock is found to be defective, Bilstein will replace or repair it. The warranty applies to aftermarket purchases. Vehicles fitted with Bilstein as original equipment should direct warranty claims to the vehicle manufacturer.
