AST Suspension 5300 Series Coilovers

The AST 5300 Series is the flagship of AST's coilover range, offering full 3-way damping adjustment for the highest level of motorsport tuning. At Springrates we carry the 5300 Series for select high-performance applications.

3-Way Adjustable AST Flagship

The 5300 Series gives you independent 3-way damping adjustment — separate low- and high-speed compression plus rebound — in a fully rebuildable AST damper built in the Netherlands. It's aimed at serious race and track cars where the finest control over body movement and grip makes the difference, and it carries AST's reputation for quality and serviceability.

This is AST's top tier. If you don't need full 3-way adjustment, the 5100 (fixed) and 5200 (2-way) Series deliver the same build quality at a lower price.

FAQs

What does 3-way adjustable mean on the AST 5300?

It gives independent control of low- and high-speed compression plus rebound damping, for the finest tuning of body movement and grip — aimed at serious race and track cars.

AST 5200 or 5300?

The 5200 offers 2-way (bump and rebound) adjustment, while the 5300 adds separate low- and high-speed compression control for full 3-way tuning. Choose the 5300 for the highest level of adjustment.

Is the AST 5300 rebuildable?

Yes. Like all AST dampers, the 5300 Series is fully rebuildable and revalvable, built in the Netherlands to motorsport standards.

Is the 5300 overkill for the street?

For most street cars, yes — the 5100 or 5200 is plenty. The 5300's 3-way adjustment is aimed at competition and serious track use.

Do I need corner weighting with the AST 5300?

Yes, ideally. On a 3-way race damper, an alignment plus corner weighting realizes its full potential.
